Clarion Installation and Mounting Guide

Detailed installation and mounting guide for Clarion multimedia systems. Initial setup steps and usage instructions.

Security Precautions and Preparation

1Security Check

Before starting the installation, make sure your vehicle's battery is fully charged. Remove the negative (-) battery terminal and store it in a safe place.

2Required Tools

Prepare the following tools for installation:

  • Phillips and flathead screwdriver set
  • Cable crimpers and insulation tape
  • Multimeter (for voltage check)
  • Cable cutter and stripper
  • Mounting adapters (depending on vehicle model)
Important: Use an anti-static wristband to protect against static electricity during installation. Ground yourself before touching electronic components.

Old System Removal

1Front Panel Removal

Remove the front panel of the existing radio/CD player. Mounting screws are usually located on the sides or bottom.

2Removing Cable Connections

Carefully remove the antenna cable, power cable and speaker cables. Label each cable to note which connection it belongs to.

3Removing the Mounting Frame

Remove the mounting frame of the old system. Some vehicles may require special adapters.

Caution: Do not force the cables. Be careful not to damage the cables when removing connections.

Multimedia Systems

Installation guides for GL-300, GL-500, GL-700 multimedia systems

GL-300 Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

Place the GL-300 system in your vehicle's DIN slot (standard 2-DIN or 1-DIN adapter). Select the mounting adapter according to your 9", 9.7" or 10" screen option.

  • Remove the front panel and clean the DIN slot
  • Place the mounting adapter into the DIN slot
  • Secure the GL-300 unit to the adapter

2Cable Connections

Cable connections for GL-300:

  • Power Cable: Connect Red (+12V), Black (GND), Yellow (ACC) cables
  • Speaker Cables: Make 4-channel speaker connections (FL, FR, RL, RR)
  • GPS Antenna: Connect GPS antenna cable and place antenna on top of vehicle
  • USB Cable: Connect USB extension cable
  • Rear View Camera (Optional): Connect RCA video cable and reverse signal

3First Boot and System Settings

GL-300 first boot settings:

  • Turn on system and select language (Turkish)
  • Configure Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections
  • Wait for GPS signal (5-10 minutes on first boot)
  • Perform speaker test and optimize audio settings
Important: GL-300 has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Remove unnecessary applications for system performance.

GL-500 Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

Install GL-500 system as rear seat entertainment system:

  • For headrest mounting: Determine 10.1" or 14" screen option
  • For console multimedia mounting: Determine 9" or 10" screen option
  • Secure mounting accessories to rear seat or console

2Cable Connections

Special connections for GL-500:

  • HDMI Input/Output: Connect external devices by connecting HDMI cable
  • Power Connection: Connect 12V power cable to vehicle battery
  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth: Place antennas for wireless connections

3Testing and Verification

Important: Professional installation is recommended for GL-700 OEM integration. Be careful as CAN-BUS connections are sensitive.

Installation guides for GV-F100 series in-car cameras

GV-F100 M01 Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

Mount GV-F100 M01 camera to front windshield:

  • Place camera on upper middle part of front windshield, behind rearview mirror
  • Clean mounting adhesive and secure camera
  • Adjust camera viewing angle (should face front windshield fully)

2Power Connection

Power connection:

  • Vehicle Charger Adapter: Connect camera power cable to vehicle charger adapter
  • Fuse Box Connection: Alternatively, you can get direct power from fuse box
  • Battery Protection: Set battery protection level for parking mode (11.8V/12.0V/12.2V)

3G-Sensor and Parking Mode Settings

Camera settings:

  • G-Sensor Sensitivity: Adjust G-sensor sensitivity for collision detection
  • Parking Mode: Activate parking mode (time-lapse: 15min/12s/24s/48s)
  • Voice Commands: Use record start, emergency video, time-lapse recording commands

4GoLook App Installation

Connection with mobile app:

  • Download GoLook app to your phone (via QR code)
  • Connect to camera Wi-Fi network

GV-F100 M02 Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

GV-F100 M02 installation (similar to M01, with 2K features):

  • Mount to front windshield (same location as M01)

22K Image and WDR Settings

Advanced image settings:

  • Resolution: Select 2K (2560×1440) resolution

GV-F100 M05 Installation Guide

DH-2 Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

DH-2 rear-view camera mounting:

  • Mount camera to trunk lid, above or beside license plate
  • Make mounting holes waterproof for IP67 water resistance

Important: DH-5 has IP68 certification but ensure cable entries are waterproof during installation.

Amplifiers

MPA2240E Amplifier Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

MPA2240E 2-channel amplifier mounting:

  • Mount amplifier to trunk or under trunk, leaving sufficient space for ventilation
  • Ensure mounting surface is flat and clean
  • Secure amplifier with screws (231×105×57 mm dimensions)

2Power Connection

Power connections:

  • Positive (+12V): Connect directly to battery positive terminal with thick cable (at least 8 AWG)
  • Negative (GND): Connect to vehicle chassis or battery negative terminal
  • Remote (REM): Connect to multimedia system remote output (for on/off)
  • Fuse: Place fuse box between battery and amplifier (30-40A recommended)

3Cable Connections

Audio connections:

  • Input (RCA): Connect RCA cables from multimedia system (left and right channel)
  • Output (Speaker): Connect speaker cables (2Ω, 4Ω or 8Ω impedance)
  • Power Values: 2Ω: 2×240W, 4Ω: 2×150W, 8Ω: 2×120W (bridge mode: 4Ω: 1×500W, 8Ω: 1×300W)

4Testing and Verification

MPA2240E test procedure:

  • Check power connections with multimeter (should be 12V)
  • Turn on amplifier and check LED indicator
  • Test at low volume level and check for distortion
  • Check THD value (should be ≤0.15%)
Important: MPA2240E is a Class AB amplifier. Use thick power cable as it draws high power and don't forget to use fuse.

MPD1100E Amplifier Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

MPD1100E monoblock amplifier mounting (for subwoofer):

  • Mount as subwoofer amplifier to trunk or under trunk
  • Leave space for sufficient ventilation

2Power Connection

MPD1100E power connections (similar to MPA2240E):

  • Thick power cable (+12V), chassis connection (GND), remote connection
  • Use thicker cable for high power (6 AWG recommended)

3Cable Connections

Subwoofer connections:

  • RCA Input: Connect from multimedia system subwoofer output
  • Subwoofer Output: Connect to subwoofer speaker
  • Frequency Setting: Set low-pass filter (usually 80-120Hz)

CPA8002D Amplifier Installation Guide / CPA4320E Amplifier Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

CPA series amplifier mounting:

  • Standard amplifier mounting procedure (trunk or under trunk)
  • Leave sufficient space for ventilation and safety

CPA series power connections:

SRB series speaker mounting:

  • Positive (+) and Negative (-) Cables: Connect cables from amplifier or multimedia system with correct polarity
  • Impedance Check: Check speaker impedance (usually 4Ω or 8Ω)

Subwoofers

DTX Series Subwoofer Installation Guide

1Mounting Location

DTX series subwoofer mounting:

  • Mount subwoofer to trunk or under trunk
  • Leave sufficient space for ventilation
  • Secure subwoofer box (enclosure) safely
  • Different sizes: DTX460S, DTX680S, DTX810S, DTX1200S, DTX1001T, DTX480E

2Cable Connections

Subwoofer connections:

  • Amplifier Connection: Connect from monoblock amplifier (like MPD1100E) to subwoofer with thick cable
  • RCA Input: Connect RCA cable from multimedia system subwoofer output
  • Power Connection: Power is taken from amplifier (subwoofer has no direct power connection)

3Frequency and Phase Settings

Subwoofer settings:

  • Low-Pass Filter: Set low-pass filter on amplifier (usually 80-120Hz)
  • Phase Setting: Set subwoofer phase (0° or 180°)
  • Gain Setting: Set gain on amplifier (maximum sound without distortion)

4Testing and Verification

Subwoofer test procedure:

  • Test with low-frequency music (bass test)
  • Check for distortion
  • Adjust balanced sound between subwoofer and speakers
  • Optimize phase setting (for best bass response)
Important: Subwoofer draws high power. Use thick cable and pay attention to amplifier power values. Phase setting significantly affects bass quality.

General Multimedia System Installation (Reference)

1Preparing the Mounting Adapter

Prepare the mounting adapter suitable for your vehicle model. The adapter will secure your Clarion system to your vehicle's DIN slot.

2Detailed Cable Connection Diagram

Connect your Clarion Android system cables carefully in the following order:

Power Cable Connection:
  • Red Cable (+12V): Connect to the +12V line from the vehicle battery
  • Black Cable (GND): Connect to the vehicle chassis or battery negative terminal
  • Yellow Cable (ACC): Connect to the 12V line from the ignition switch
  • Orange Cable (ILL): Connect to the lighting line (optional)
Antenna Cable Connection:
  • Antenna Adapter: Connect the vehicle antenna cable to the Clarion antenna adapter
  • Antenna Power Cable: Connect the antenna power cable to the +12V line
  • Antenna Control Cable: Connect the antenna control cable to the system antenna output
Speaker Cable Connections:
  • Front Left Speaker: White cable (+) and White-Black cable (-)
  • Front Right Speaker: Gray cable (+) and Gray-Black cable (-)

3Placing the System in the Slot

Place your Clarion system with the mounting adapter into the DIN slot and secure it with screws.

Important: Be careful that the cables are not pinched and are properly positioned. Incorrect connection can cause system damage.

First Boot and System Settings

1First Boot and Android Startup

Reconnect the battery terminal and turn on the ignition. When your Clarion Android system boots up, follow these steps:

  • Android Boot Screen: After the Clarion logo appears, the Android startup screen will appear
  • First Setup Wizard: On the "Welcome" screen, tap the "Start" button
  • Language Selection: Select the "Turkish" option and tap the "Next" button
  • Region Selection: Select "Turkey" and tap the "Next" button

2Android System Settings

Make the following settings on the main screen:

  • Settings Menu: Tap the "Settings" icon on the main screen
  • System Settings: Tap the "System" option
  • Date and Time: Tap the "Date and Time" option
  • Time Zone: Select "GMT+3 (Istanbul)"
  • Date Format: Select the "DD/MM/YYYY" format
  • Time Format: Select the "24 hour" format

3Display Settings

For image quality:

  • Display Settings: Go to "Settings" > "Display" menu
  • Brightness: Set between 70-80%
  • Auto Brightness: Set to "On" position

4Audio System Settings

Test the speaker connections:

  • Connection Test: Test by playing music from your phone

6Wi-Fi Connection

For internet connection:

  • Wi-Fi Menu: "Settings" > "Connections" > "Wi-Fi"
  • Turn On Wi-Fi: Set the "Wi-Fi" switch to "On" position
  • Network Selection: Select your existing Wi-Fi network from the list
  • Password Entry: Enter your Wi-Fi password
  • Connection Test: Check for the "Connected" text

Navigation System Setup

1GPS Antenna Installation

Place the GPS antenna on the top of your vehicle, away from metal obstacles. Connect the antenna cable to the Clarion system.

2Map Loading

Load navigation maps:

  • Transfer map files to the system via USB memory
  • Complete the map loading process
  • Wait for GPS signal on first boot (5-10 minutes)

3Navigation Settings

Configure navigation settings:

  • Select your preferred route type (fast/short/economic)
  • Activate traffic warnings
  • Save your favorite locations

Troubleshooting and Support

1Common Issues

System Not Booting:

  • Check power cable connections
  • Check fuse status
  • Measure battery voltage (should be 12V)

2Audio Issues

No Sound from Speakers:

  • Check that speaker cables are connected correctly
  • Check audio settings
  • Check speaker impedance (4-8 ohm)

3Bluetooth Issues

Cannot Establish Bluetooth Connection:

  • Check that your phone's Bluetooth is turned on
  • Delete previous pairings and try again
